All workshops are held at our studio in Atwater Village unless otherwise noted.
All workshops require advanced registration and payment. If you must cancel, please contact us at least three business days before the class date in order to receive a refund. In the event that we have to cancel a class, students will receive a full refund.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
Backyard Chickens
$40
Chickens are a wonderful part of a healthy organic garden system. They eat our compost and give us eggs and fertilizer, plus they are great friends! Learn how to raise healthy and happy hens including yard set up, housing, feed, and crops that they love to eat.
Build A Succulent Container
$100 (includes materials)
Learn the tricks of the trade. Join the Everything Gardens design crew to create your own unique and sculptural potted succulent garden as a gift for a friend or yourself. You will choose your materials including a beautiful modern clay pot, soil, a selection of succulent plants and top dressing. You will also receive a care sheet for your new succulent garden.
Companion Planting
$30
Companion Planting is a way to enhance organic garden health by using plants natural properties to protect each other and attract beneficial insects. Learn how to use this ancient technique to increase your gardens productivity and lessen your work!
Container Gardening
$80 (materials included)
You can grow vegetables and herbs even if you don’t have a huge yard. In this workshop, you will learn which containers to use, soil requirements, when to plant, maintenance, and what edibles do best in containers. You will leave with your own planted clay container garden filled with edible plants. Great class for beginners and apartment dwellers.
Build a Terrarium
$80 (materials included)
Bring the outdoors in with a beautiful low maintenance moss terrarium. Everything Gardens will provide all of the materials to make a living breathing glass garden and help you every step of the way. Bring your own small rocks, shells or other decorations that you would like to include. You will receive a care sheet for your new glass terrarium.
Intro to Organic Gardening
$50 (materials included)
Learn how to grow organic edibles and ornamentals at home. This workshop covers the basics of soil health, seed propagation, planting, composting, and maintenance. You will learn how to make your own seedling pots out of newspaper and take the tool home with you. Everyone will leave with a variety of seedlings, a potmaker, and a whole lot of knowledge to take into your personal garden.
Intro to Permaculture
$80
Come join the growing community of designers, homeowners, and apartment dwellers who are looking to lower their environmental impact through the powerful and inspiring resource of Permaculture. We will be learning the basics of Permaculture principles and most importantly, how to apply them to your life. Snacks and refreshments provided.
Lose Your Lawn
$50 (materials included)
Our most requested workshop! You will learn how to transform a small (or large) area of your lawn into a beautiful and diverse edible or drought tolerant garden without the use of chemicals. We will also talk about city rebates for lawn removal and what to do with your new garden space. We will work on a neighborhood beautification and gain hands-on knowledge.
Gourmet Mushrooms
$75 (includes one mushroom kit, additional may be purchased for $30)
Growing gourmet edible mushrooms such as Shiitake and Oyster at home is a rewarding (and delicious) winter project. We will learn how to start and care for mushroom kits and you will take your own home with you. You will be eating your own organic mushrooms in a matter of weeks! Please sign up early so that you may choose the type of mushroom kit that you prefer.
Planning Your Fall/Winter Kitchen Garden
$50 (materials included)
Start planning your kitchen garden for top productivity this Fall. You will gain knowledge on soil preparation, maintenance, harvesting, companion planting, raised beds and which plants are appropriate for this time of year. Organic spring plant starters and seeds will be available to purchase.
Worm Composting
$30
Composting is essential to a healthy, nutritious, and environmentally responsible garden. Learn how to use a worm bin to break down your vegetable scraps into rich fertilizer for your plants. We will talk about how and where to set up your worm bin (it can be inside for apartment dwellers!) maintenance, and upkeep. Our favorite easy to use worm bin and worms will be available for purchase to get started right away!
